Bright, full spectrum colour and expressive calligraphy are characteristics of my paintings on canvas or paper in oil, acrylic, watercolour and mixed media. In general my painting displays a lively, contemporary style which explores the plastic quality of pigments and incorporates drawing as a vital component of the work.
Abstract and realistic works on canvas are complex with thick, juicy surfaces and well-defined brush strokes. Years of exploring portrait and en pleine air painting have helped to developed my individual style and point of view. I like to divide creative time between conventional representations of the natural world and various degrees of abstraction. I think my paintings convey a genuine impression of my optimistic personality. top |
